Favorite Childhood Books!
Growing up, I have loved books. Ever since I was handed my first book, I’ve read book after book, my tiny mind starving for more! And as a kid, I had personal favorites.
My first favorite series is Percy Jackson. I remember in Middle school, my class was having a Christmas party. And our math teacher went shopping over the weekend and bought a huge pile of books for us. I went up to the table, and found this good-sized paperback, and thought the cover looked interesting.
I brought it home and began reading it. In a matter of one hour, I had devoured the entire book! I absolutely loved the story, the characters, the plot, the setting, everything the book had to offer.
My first instinct was to go straight to the library and hunt down the second book. Years later, Percy Jackson is still a personal favorite. (Even though I have not finished reading the Apollo series!).
My next all-time favorite childhood book is Amulet. Digging around the library, I found that everyone was reading this so-called book Amulet. I shrugged my shoulders, and thought why not read it? I fell in love with this series, and today, I’m patiently waiting for the final book of the series. (Which is sad that it’s ending in my opinion).
Recalling the Amulet series, it became a distinctive book my siblings and I adored! We would always search the scholastic book fair flyers for this book and go begging our mom to drive us to the book fair.
With these two personal favorites, what are your favorite childhood books you remember? Comment below yours!
I've watch Percy Jackson but never read the books. I should add those to my reading list. I've never heard of Amulet though. My favourite childhood read is the Harry Poter series and I loved reading Nancy Drew books.
Most of my childhood favorites are still my favourites now. Especially Peter Rabbit and Paddington Bear.
I sometimes feel as though saying "childhood" books is so broad! Are we talking like.. toddler age? First books read on our own? Middle school? Haha! But I will say that what stands out most to me is The Chronicles of Narnia. My family read the entire series when I was six years old and I still own that very same box set. It is falling apart entirely and the books are so worn out, but it's so special to me. Those books were what truly fueled my love for reading and piqued my interest in fantasy! I'll always be thankful for their positive impact on my life!
I use to love dr. Seuss books. The first book I learned to read by myself. After that I was unstoppable I read everything
